Allan "Rocky" Lane
Allan “Rocky” Lane was a popular cowboy movie star of the ‘40’s and early ‘50’s starring in numerous “B” Westerns including several as “Red Ryder” with his Indian sidekick, Little Beaver played by Robert Blake.
He was one of my first “Western Heroes” and even today when one of his movies is aired, I enjoy watching it as it reminds me of a day when life appeared to be much simpler and adhering to the Code of the West was the right thing to do. “Rocky” may be better remembered these days to ongoing generations, as the off-camera voice for the talking horse “Mister Ed” (1961) in the classic 60s sitcom of the same name.Geff Dawson & Charley at the

Dream Ride In The Flint Hills

Belinda Gail and Curly Musgrave are two of the best Western Music entertainers I’ve heard and they certainly didn’t disappoint the riders and guest with their outstanding performances during this two-day trail ride event. They provided the inspirational music at “Cowboy Church” on Sunday morning. Belinda has earned such awards from the Western Music Association as ‘Female Performer of the Year;’ from the ‘Academy of Western Artists’ as ‘Female Vocalist of the Year’ and is truly “America’s Western Sweetheart.”.
Performing together they earned the coveted Western Music Association’s award, ‘Duo of the Year’ in 2006 and Curly is recognized as “One of the most innovative and influential singer/songwriters in Western Music today.” It was a great time and a pleasure to visit with these personable and talented individuals.
